Actually loading FreeMcBoot to your memory card will likely be the trickiest part of the operation, but once you've got that part the rest is a breeze. #Shadow tower abyss english iso ps2As fast points out FreeMcBoot is an ELF file that loads to your PS2 memory card, and subsequently serves as the boot ROM / "OS" of your PS2. You can find plenty of nice tutorials on YouTube, and SKS Apps is also a really good place to start. The softmod is not terribly difficult at all. If you care about maintaining the fidelity of the original game, you're going to have a lot more satisfaction playing on the original hardware. PCSX2 is an amazing piece of kit in terms of emulation but it's far from perfect. Yeah I'm speaking as someone who is "pro-emulation" and even I would recommend going the soft-mod route is there's any way you can swing it. #Shadow tower abyss english iso freeIf I remember correctly, Free McBoot is just a memory card file that lets you load burned discs. #Shadow tower abyss english iso how toMrEco wrote:I'm not really comfortable modding my PS2, so I guess it's about time I learn how to use a PS2 emulator. These games are growers, but they grow on you pretty fast if you give them a proper evening. I wish more people would give them a shot beyond the initial "WTF this sucks" thirty minutes. #Shadow tower abyss english iso softwareIn all seriousness the From Software first person RPGs are freaking amazing. The fan translation available for it is quite well done too. For me it really held up well and was super fun to play. The very first King's Field (the one that didn't leave Japan) is incredibly impressive for its time. I also own all the Souls games, but I haven't tried them yet because I want to finish the classics first. Looking forward to getting into them sooner rather than later. I haven't played KF3: Pilot Style, KF3, or the Shadow Tower games yet. Of the three KF games I've finished, I'd rank them like this: I hope you get properly hooked and see it to the end, the final area and final boss are pretty damned impressive. KF 2 is very "metroidvania" in comparison. Actually I found KF 2 to be more challenging than KF 1 simply because it was far less linear. I quite enjoyed it, very immersive and challenging. ![]() Yes, I beat that one for the first time earlier this year. So you're talking about King's Field II it seems. I also have a ton of "Monster Bones" in my inventory and I have no idea what they do and couldn't find that anywhere online. I recently got an item called the Purity Amulet, and it's description say's something like "Increases the cleansing ability of ones body." I had to look up online and eventually found out that the amulet makes a spell called Earth Heal (which I don't even have yet) more effective.Īnd unlike Souls, there doesn't seem to be a comprehensive wiki to explain these things. A lot of the miscellaneous items have very vague descriptions that don't accurately explain what they do. I have to say there is one thing that bums me out though. There's a lot more focus on puzzles or finding the right items to progress, similar to a metroidvania game, rather than straight up combat like in Souls. I love exploring around this bleak desolate world. In the screen where you set the buttons, I recommend setting the dead zone for the mouse to zero on each axis as well as setting the sensitivity to something higher than default.I'm kind of surprised it's taken me this long to get around to it, but I recently jumped into King's Field IV: The Ancient City. If your mouse doesn't detect in the game try unchecking "start without mouse focus" in the lilypad plug-in. If I somehow figure it out I'll pass on the information, but in the meantime I'd appreciate any tips.Įdit 2: okay, I figured it out. ![]() When I test the mouse axis/buttons in the lilypad config window it works, but once in the game it doesn't recognize the mouse at all, not even the mouse buttons. I know it's possible since I see the mouse options there in Lilypad, but I've tried every input type (windows messaging, raw input, direct input) and it doesn't work. However, can someone help me configure a mouse to replace the right analog stick in PCSX2? I'd like to try a keyboard and mouse setup. Controls are a bit unwieldy, but I'm sure I'll get used to it soon enough.Įdit: well, I've played a bit with control type 4 and it makes moving a lot easier since it's similar to standard FPS analog controls. ![]() #Shadow tower abyss english iso PatchThanks for sharing the news, the patch works great! I've been curious about the game ever since Demon's Souls came out. ![]()
